Milestones


Background   

   1962 : The late Rev. Dr. D. James Kennedy is the founder of EE in Coral Ridge Presbyterian
              Church, Florida.
   1967 : The 1st Leadership Training Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
   1972 : Spread to other cities in the United States.
   1983 : Spread to all the Continents.
   1998 : Evangelism Explosion of Cambodia (EE Cambodia).
              This was the year that Khmer Evangelical Church of CMA sent some people to attend
              the EE Trainings in Bangkok and Malaysia. Since then, they decided to translate all the
              materials and manuals of Classic EE (Adult EE) from English into the Cambodian 
              language.
   2002 : Some EE Leaders from the foreign countries came to Phnom Penh to conduct the first  
              two Adult EE clinics in Cambodian language among some pastors and lay people at the  
              Tum Nup Tuek Church. It was also the first time that the materials and manuals of Adult 
              EE were used experimentally after the they were translated from English into Khmer
              language.
   2003 : Rev. Tom Mangham and some of his EE Team came to conduct the Third Adult EE 
             Clinic at the Friends Church in Battambang Province. There were some pastors and lay  
             people who came from different Churches and missionaries of CMA and of Friends 
             Church attending this Third AEE Training. It was the same year that Pastor Phearum Gnea 
             the present National Director of EE Cambodia came to the EE Training for the first time. Since
             then, he committed his life to work with EE Ministry for the rest of his life.
   2004 : Two delegates invited to attend the twentieth Anniversary of EE Philippines in Manila.
   2006 : Two people invited to attend the Kids’ EE and Youth EE Clinics in Khaolak, Thailand. After
             coming back from the trainings in Thailand, EE Cambodia started to translate all the
              materials and manuals of Kids’ EE and Youth EE from English into Khmer Language. At
              the same year EE Cambodia has equipped more pastors and church leaders among the
              Cambodians and Kampuchea Khroum who came from Vietnam. More than that, many  
              more pastors and lay leaders who came from different tribal groups Bunong, Jarai, Kuy,  
             and Vietnamese who live in Cambodia came to be equipped in EE Ministry as Trainees,  
             Trainers, Teachers and Clinic Teachers. 
    2008 : Two people invited to attend the GDP Training for Leadership in Fiji Islands for the First time.
    2009 : Two people invited to attend the Weavers Training in Penang, Malaysia.
    2010 : 
  • Two people encouraged to attend the GDP Training for Leadership in Fiji Islands for the Second time.
  • Officially Formed National Board Members of EEOC.
  • After the first Congress of Nations of Evangelism Explosion, gathered from the 22nd to 26th of March, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, EEMS (http://www.ee.org.sg/) chose to adopt EEOC.
    2011 : 
  • EEOC registered officially by the Government.
  • At this same year, our EEOC started partnering with Mr. Tai Young Lee and his wife Keun Joo Lee to have the EEOC Branch in Phnom Penh.
  • Mrs. Hein Nhea was promoted as a coordinator to lead the Kids' EE.
  • Miss Sriymoch Ngeth was appointed as a coordinator to lead the Youth's EE.
    2012 : 
  • It was a big blessing that EEMS sent Pastor Aow Kwong Bu and Pastor Andy Lim to assist our National Board Members of EEOC.
  • EE International invited the National Director of EEOC to attend the Nation Building Specialist (NBS) in Nadi, Fiji from September 10 to September 22.
  • By God’s grace, Pastor Phearum Gnea and two of his Cambodian friends Pastor Samoeurn Bo and Brother Sopheak Keo, came to visit Vientiane, Laos for the first time. At that time, they got to know some new friends who live in Vientiane. Moreover, God also has blessed the work of EE through Pastor Phearum’s friends, Pastor Simon and his wife who live and work as missionaries in Vientiane.
    2013 : 
  • Pastor Simon invited Pastor Phearum and Pastor Samoeurn to come and conduct a short EE Training for two and a half days as a promotion so that some Pastors and church leaders in Laos would know about EE ministry and what it was. This special EE Training was held at Pastor Simon’s Church where there were 6 people attending it, who came from different areas in Laos. Brother Phengseng Moua        (Summer) was also one of our translators at that time. Praise God! After this special EE event of its promotion, they were very encouraged and interested in EE ministry. Since then, EE Cambodia continued to keep in good relationship with Pastor Simon and Brother Summer.
  • EE Cambodia was recognized/supported to become one of the multiplying nations. More than that, it was a great privilege to adopt the Country of Laos.
  • We would like to mention how much we appreciate the C&MA Missions and Missionary Bill Lobbezoo for partnering and supporting EEOC to train people, who came from different provinces in Cambodia to become good English Teachers.  Missionary Bill started coming to Siem Reap to teach the Pedagogical Seminar for English Teachers (SET) on March 09, 2013. Since then, there were 255 English Teachers graduated from this Seminar.  It was very encouraging to hear that many of them started teaching English classes in many different schools, Christian Churches and non-profit NGOs. 
  • EEOC started to have a good friendship with the Shofar Christian Church in Wellington, South Africa.
  • The Lord has blessed EE Cambodia many ways. In 2013, EEOC was financially supported by the CMA Churches in Canada to build a School Building with 5 rooms.
  • Pastor Neels and his people came to help us working on the EEOC School Building. 
    2014 : 
  • Our EEOC School Building was completely built. At this same year, we had a School Building Inauguration.
  • Be thankful to EEMS and EE Indonesia for sending Brother Lion Soegiharto and Brother Peter Hidayat to visit us and encourage us many ways.
  • The Shofar Christian Church in Wellington invited the EEOC National Director to visit their congregations and attend their national convergence.
  • Six delegates attended the First EE Asia Conference and EE Indonesia its national convention in Malang, Indonesia.
  • God has blessed our EE Cambodia many ways through the partnership our friends (Mr. and Mrs. Polischuk, Mr. and Mrs. Prins and Dr. Harry and his wife Faith), the missionaries who came to live and work in Siem Reap. Because of this, many people were blessed!
       2015 :
  • Philip Coté and his family came to assist EE Cambodia by working as a Mechanic Course Instructor and English Teacher. 
  • Pastor Simon, Brother Summer and Xoryang came to the conference in Siem Reap, Cambodia where they also met with Rev. Phearum and planned for the First Adult EE Leadership Training Clinic that it was conducted at Naseo Church on August 21-25, 2015 in Vientiane, Laos. There were 18 people came to be trained as Lay Teachers/Trainers. They came from 6 different Churches. Most of the clinicians came from 4 different Churches in Laos except two clinicians (one of the clinicians came from the northern part of Vietnam and the other one came from Battambang Province, Cambodia. In addition to this, through this good and strong relationship, Rev. Phearum Gnea was invited by Pastor Cher HER and his congregation to come and preach the Word of God at their Church on Sunday. At that same day, many people became very encouraged by the personal testimonies shared by Miss Sriymoch Ngeth and Miss Kimpoch Dy.
  • Scot Love came to bless our EE Cambodia by conducting the first Glasses for Missions for three days. Praise God! There were 95 people heard the Gospel about Jesus and 39 of them received the free gift of eternal life from Jesus.
