The sewing school was built in May 2011 but we have been doing sewing classes since April 2011.
Mrs. Han Chuop has been sewing since 1999 and has been teaching others to sew out of her house since 2005. She has been making intricate traditional Khmer wedding clothes for years. Han has two children and is the wife of Mr. Phearum Gnea.
She currently has twenty-eight students in the sewing school. The class is a 6 month long program and many of her students will go to sew at factories afterwards or start their own businesses. They will receive a certificate of their vocational achievement.
The school currently has twenty-two sewing machines but if we had more machines, we could train more students.
